This blog (http://blog.hobbycomponents.com) is provided as a free service by Hobby Components Ltd. We are an on-line provider of electronic products and components aimed mainly at the hobbyist and educational markets. Our main website (web store) can be found at http://hobbycompoents.com.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Account information. Should you create an account via this blog site we will also store additional information including username, name, email address and account password. These are required for account creation and account identification purposes. Your email address will not be used to contact you for anything other than reasons related to your account, such as account confirmation, password recovery, important service information etc. Your account information will not be used for marketing purposes and will not be passed on to any other third parties not specifically listed in this policy. Account passwords are stored as a secure hash.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics are collected via the Google analytics service. No personal information is stored and it is used purely for website monitoring purposes.
Who we share your data with
Data collected via this site (http://blog.hobbycomponents.com) is not shared with any third party. Your data is kept private and we will never sell, trade or otherwise pass on your personal data to other third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

The right to be informed – about how we collect and use your data.
The right of access (Subject Access Request) which gives you the right to request a copy of all the data we hold about you. You can make an SAR request by sending an email to sales @ hobbycomponents.com. We will endeavour to provide this information as quickly as possible (within one month of the original request) and in accordance with the law, but as part of the process we will require confirmation of identity and may request additional information to aid in the process. We have the right to refuse a request when it is deemed to be manifestly unfounded or excessive. In which case you will be informed why your request has been refused.
The right to rectification – Changes to your information can be made via the settings section of your blog account. Any changes to information not available via your account settings can be made by sending an email to sales @ hobbycomponents.com.
The right to erasure – Should you wish to have your account(s) and data deleted you can send a request via email to sales @ hobbycomponents.com.
The right to restrict processing – You can request that processing of your data is blocked.
The right to data portability – You can request transfer of your data to another business.
The right to object – You can object to any form of processing of your data.
The right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling – You can request where a decision being made about yourself by an automated process, be intervened by a human, or request an explanation of the process.
